AME Mission Statement

PDF Print E-mail

Thirty years ago our staff of Medical Directors recognized the need to be available to Plaintiff Attorneys for two ethical reasons:

  • By being willing to review medical cases to ferret out negligent doctors they would encourage all physicians to police themselves, to think twice before acting and to seek the consultation of specialists. This will serve to improve the safety and quality of medical care in our country; and

  • Through locating independent credible medical experts who are willing to testify in Court for injured patients in support of their opinions, they follow the Hippocratic Oath to “do no harm,” which thereby encourages their fellow physicians to avoid patient harm. But when any injury occurs from negligent care, to assist in their financial recovery in our advocacy-based legal system – the moral purpose of liability insurance. No medical expert we supply for any case is a “professional witness”.

These ethical standards and patient goals continue to guide us every day and in every case we are privileged to assist in through our Complete Case Review and obtaining objective Expert Reports.

American Medical Experts has a very unique service and fee structure to benefit attorneys. AME contains your (upfront) costs for your cases to be reviewed (our Complete Case Reviews by our in-house Medical Directors) and to obtain favorable experts witnesses to support your cases at trial (Expert Witness Reports).

AME reduces your fee to a flat rate and absorbs the cost for both of our services: our in-house Complete Case Reviews and Expert Witness Reports. Instead of charging / billing you and your clients an hourly rate, (average rates for the review of records by Experts can range from $400-$600 per hour or higher), we only charge $695 for Complete Case Reviews and $995 for Expert Witness Reports (up to 100 pages for all documents reviewed and $1.50 for each additional page reviewed) for our Complete Case review and an Expert Witness Reports.

American Medical Experts opened its doors decades ago to assist attorneys by reviewing cases for merit as well as containing their costs for these reviews (our in-house Complete Case Reviews) as well as obtaining reports from Expert Witnesses.

AME drastically reduces the upfront fees for you and your clients in order to contain your costs and financial exposure by screening out your cases and obtaining favorable Medical Expert Witnesses so that you only work with and invest your time and resources on solid cases with merit.

When you have obtained an Expert Witness Report from AME at our reduced rates, you have an Expert Witness who has spent many hours reviewing your case, preparing their report(s) and is ready to move forward (deposition, trial, etc) on your case as your Expert Witness.

** If missing documents are requested to complete the review, or sent to AME after the review of your case has begun, hourly rates will be applied and bill (Complete Case Review $400 per hour and Expert Witness Reports rates are based on the Medical Expert's fee schedule) prior to reviewing those items. The time (hours for review) for these additional items to be reviewed will be based on an approximate time frame from our Director at a minimum of 1 hour. If the time to review the documents exceeds the approximate time, payment for the additional time will be required prior to releasing the report(s) to the Attorney.
