Gastric Bypass Surgery Expert Witness

Gastric bypass procedures are a group of operations performed on morbidly obese patients. A gastric bypass first divides the stomach into a small upper pouch and much larger “remnant” pouch. Doing so drastically reduces the size of the patient’s stomach; this way, he or she cannot eat as much. The surgery is fairly risky, but highly effective at reducing obesity.
