Improper diagnosis is a very serious medical problem. It is typically caused when physicians fail to notice signs and symptoms of disorders, or if they see the signs but attribute them to the incorrect disorder. This can be dangerous, or even fatal, to the patient, because it means that they will not receive the proper treatment, and therefore their condition will continue to deteriorate.
