First Aid Expert Witness

First aid is the initial part of care for an injury. It is typically performed by a layman as a stopgap measure until health care professionals can assess the injury. Eyelid Surgery Expert Witness

Eyelid surgeries, also called belpharoplasties, are performed for medical or cosmetic purposes. Most cosmetic eyelid surgeries focus on enhancing the youthful look of the face. Eye Trauma/Injury Expert Witness

Physical or chemical eye injuries are serious threats to vision if not treated immediately and appropriately. Symptoms of eye injury include redness and pain. Ideally, the patient should visit an eye doctor (ophthalmologist) as soon as he or she experiences these or other symptoms to be diagnosed and receive treatment. Treatment techniques include prescribing medicinal eye drops or drug therapy, or performing surgery.

Eye Surgery Expert Witness

Eye surgery, also called ocular surgery, is typically performed by ophthalmologists. It can be performed for any number of reasons, including improving the function and appearance of the eye, or transplanting a new eye due to loss or damage. Opthalmologists also perform laser eye surgery to correct the vision of patients who no longer wish to wear glasses. Eye surgery is very risky, so physicians must be well-trained.

Eye infections include bacterial infections in the eyelashes, eyelid infections caused by herpes, fungal infections in the cornea, and parasitic infections. Eye infections such as these can be dangerous, so physicians must be extremely vigilant to warning signs so that they can treat their patients appropriately.
